Privacy Policy

Who we are

Enter the Enigma Escape Rooms is a family-owned escape room business with two locations in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This policy covers entertheenigma.com and explains what we collect when you visit, why, and what choices you have.

Information you give us

We only collect what you hand over yourself:

• Event and party requests. Our events form asks for your name, email address, preferred date and time, group size, which location you want, which package interests you and which rooms you would like to play. It goes to our team so we can reply.
• Job applications. If you apply for a job, see Job applications below.
• Emails and phone calls. If you contact us directly, we keep what you send so we can help you.

We do not sell this information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

Booking, waivers and gift cards

Game bookings, player waivers and gift card purchases are handled inside our booking system, Off The Couch, which appears embedded in pages on this site. Anything you type into those sections — including your name, contact details, payment information and waiver signature — is collected and stored by Off The Couch under their own privacy policy rather than by this website. We access that information through their system in order to run your booking.

We never receive or store your full payment card details.

Job applications

Our Join Our Team application asks for:

• your name, email address and phone number;
• whether you are at least 16 and allowed to work in the United States;
• which locations you could work at, when you could start, how many hours you want, and the days and times you are usually available;
• your recent work history, whether we may contact your most recent employer, and the kinds of experience you have;
• your answers to a few short questions about the job;
• if you choose to give them, the names, contact details and relationship of up to two references; and
• if you choose to add them, your resume and a LinkedIn or portfolio link.

We use this only to consider you for a job with us: reading your application, contacting you, contacting any references you give us, and, if you agree, contacting your most recent employer. Only the owners and managers who do our hiring can read it. We do not ask for your age or date of birth, the dates you attended or graduated from school, your pay history, or your criminal history, and you can leave your birth date and school dates off your resume.

Your application and resume are stored by Netlify, which runs our website forms. When an application arrives, our owners get a short internal notice in Discord, the messaging service we use as a team. The notice shows only your first name and the job; your contact details, answers and resume are never sent there.

Colorado law requires employers to keep job applications and resumes for two years, so we keep yours for two years from the date you apply and then delete it. If we hire you, your application becomes part of your employee file. During those two years you can still ask us to correct it, and you can ask us what we hold — see Your choices.

Enter the Enigma is an equal opportunity employer.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies. Two third-party tools run on every page of this site:

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and move around the site — which pages get visited, roughly where visitors are, what device they use. This helps us decide what to improve. Google may set cookies in your browser to do this.

You can opt out across every site that uses it with Google's browser add-on.

Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)

We use the Meta Pixel so we can measure how well our Facebook and Instagram advertising works and show ads to people who have visited our site. The pixel tells Meta that a browser visited a page here, along with technical details such as IP address, browser and device. If you are signed in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may be able to connect that visit to your account.

You can control this in your Facebook ad settings.

Turning cookies off

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking them will not stop you booking a game. Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal, and we do not currently respond to those signals differently.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the services that make the site and our bookings work:

• Off The Couch — bookings, waivers and gift cards.
• Netlify — hosting for this website, and our events and job application forms (including any resume you upload).
• Discord — internal notices to our team. For a job application, this is your first name only.
• Google — website analytics.
• Meta — advertising measurement.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep event and party enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the booking. Job applications and resumes are kept for two years from the date you apply, as Colorado law requires, and then deleted. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard schedule. Booking and waiver records are held in our booking system for as long as we are required to keep them.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@entertheenigma.com and we will respond.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law, including the Colorado Privacy Act. If you would like to exercise any of them, use the same email address and tell us what you need.

Children

Our rooms are family-friendly and children are welcome to play, but this website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information online from anyone under 13. Bookings and waivers for younger players are made by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
